Boosting employee engagement, productivity, and company culture with bots and automation.
Many companies are switching over from outdated intranets to more productive enterprise communication and collaboration networks such as Workplace from Meta, but there's still a lot more to do, particularly for frontline workers. This is where I believe Bots and Automation can step in and benefit employees, particularly frontline workers, in developing and launching bespoke work tools & applications that transform their employee experience even more after launching Workplace from Meta.
The frontline workers of a company are often customer facing and need the right technology and communication tools to provide a great customer experience and do their jobs efficiently, in my opinion keeping them happy and allowing human connection to thrive is the key to success here. It was evident from the last two years how important it is to make sure your employees are happy and as the world reopens, it is even more critical that staff feel supported, engaged and have access to the tools they need to be able to do their jobs safely and effectively.
The adoption of both Workplace from Meta and The Bot Platform provides companies with the opportunity to address long standing challenges surrounding employee engagement. But why is this so important? Company leaders were urged to boost employee morale and ensure employee engagement is brought higher up in their priorities throughout the pandemic. In the following year (2021), Kincentric reported that the percentage of employees motivated by their senior leaders increased by 10% to a healthy 74%. This upwards trend in employee engagement due to leaders being involved echoes one of our social care clients' rise in engagement as well.
In December 2021, after a decision made by their leaders and with our support, they tried their hand at using The Bot Platform (with ease I will add) to engage with their staff with an Advent Calendar Bot. After just one week of drumming up festive cheer we recorded a 25% increase in connections being made across their Workplace. This linked directly to the group setup to promote the Bot and any prizes associated with the campaign. Leading up to Christmas we also recorded these inspiring statistics:
Posts Created up by 70.66%
Comments up by 35.89%
Reactions up by 44.58%
Messages up by 35.23%
8/10 Top Users are frontline / hospitality workers from within the social care organisation.
This example shows how companies using Workplace from Meta can integrate The Bot Platform to build their own employee engagement programs and give frontline employees interactive tools that help them create and maintain personalised connections and foster a sense of community within their work community. Failing to tap into your workforce's personal connectors is a big missed opportunity, one that could if done right reaps enormous rewards for both employee morale and engagement.
This is why I strongly believe there has never been a more appropriate (and important) time to adopt enterprise social and collaborative platforms like Workplace from Meta, and technology tools like The Bot Platform. The impact they can have for enhancing the employee experience, engagement, communication, company culture, and productivity for frontline staff and those responsible for managing them is invaluable. Ultimately it’s vital to remember that the answer for improving work culture is human behaviour, and technology should only act as the enabler, not the complete solution.
